life in the "new normal."

Operating jeepneys in the post-COVID "new normal" is challenging due to their crowded, shared nature, which increases virus transmission risks. Passengers face limited health screening and social distancing, making rides potentially unsafe.

However, stopping operations isn't viable, as drivers depend on daily earnings. The challenge is to ensure safe jeepney services that protect public health while supporting drivers' livelihoods

the.goals

transforming jeepney travel in the new normal.

Go Jeep aims to make jeepney transportation safer and more efficient in the post-COVID era. By offering features like advance booking and contact tracing, the app reduces crowding, minimizes physical contact, and supports health protocols. Passengers can book rides in advance for a safer travel experience, while the contact tracing feature helps manage potential virus exposure.

user flow

This flowchart outlines the user journey within the Go Jeep where drivers can log in to post trips, and passengers can browse, select trips, check details, and reserve seats if requirements like PPE are met.

the proper font and color.

I think the color I picked here is too vibrant for a booking application. I should have chosen more neutral or monotone colors to make it easier on the eyes. As for the font, I chose a combination of Montserrat and Hind. I believe it fits the concept well since both fonts complement each other and are easy to read.

mid fidelity -- final mockups.

We created mid-fidelity mockups first to ensure that the elements, layout, and overall structure aligned with the project goals before proceeding to high-fidelity designs.

prototyping.

After finalizing the design and layout of all the pages, I now need to implement the user flow defined during the planning stage. This flow acts as a blueprint for the developers, providing them with clear instructions on the sequence of actions, animations, and transitions for each page.

takeaway.

what i learned?

My key takeaway from this project is the importance of creating products that solve real-world problems and have a positive impact on society. Through developing Go Jeep, I learned the value of user-centric design, addressing challenges like safe public transportation during COVID-19 while supporting jeepney drivers’ livelihoods.

By integrating features like advance booking and contact tracing, Go Jeep prioritizes health, convenience, and accessibility, contributing to public safety. This project also emphasized the need for sustainable, adaptable solutions that remain relevant over time, reinforcing my responsibility as a technopreneur to innovate meaningfully for the community.
